Afternoon of Reflection

Sunday was an afternoon of reflection put together by Campus/Young Adult Ministry. It was held at the Convent across from Marian High Schoool and Father Bob was the presenter -->he did an awesome job (which isn't surprising considering what a wonderful priest he is) =]

The topic of his presentation was "All Creatures of Our God and King. Looking at Life through the Eyes of St. Francis". After each topic he talked about he wanted us all to sing a verse of All Creatures of Our God and King. He said, "You have no excuses because I put all the verses in the booklet for you" (in the booklets he had made there was a verse appropriate for each topic he had talked about).

~ So I was sitting outside this evening and had to take a picture of this:

All I could think of when I saw those rays coming from behind those clouds was God telling each and every one of us - "My child look up here. I'm trying to reach out and speak to your heart because I love you".
How amazing creation is!
All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
Alleluia! Alleluia!
O burning sun with golden beam
And silver moon with softer gleam
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
this was my favorite verse though:
O ev'ry one of tender heart
Forgiving others take your part
O praise Him! Alleluia!
All you who pain and sorrow bear
Praise God and lay on Him your care
O praise Him! O Praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Home from VA

Mom, Dad, Grandpa, and I just got back from a family reunion in Virginia Beach. We arrived at the S.B. regional airport this evening around 7ish and went to dinner at Wendys. Grandpa and I had a baked potato =]
I had such a great time seeing some of my cousins, my aunts, and my uncles. I loved that Grandpa was able to fly out with us!
It's always nice to be back home but of course I really miss everyone and wish we lived closer
.

Here are the last batch of pictures and a couple videos:

We go home tomorrow

~ Uncle Bob and Drew left yesterday morning.

~ Last night was fun. We went out for dinner and got to walk along the boardwalk of VA Beach. There were fireworks to see too!

~ Aunt Deb, Aunt Teresa, and I went to get manicures this morning, the guys played golf, and my mom decided to stay back with Grandpa since he wasn't feeling the greatest.

~ We leave tomorrow

Birthday Celebrations

As I'm writing this I am here in Virginia Beach with my mom's side of the family. We are here for a family reunion at mom's older sister's house.

Mom, Dad, Grandpa, and I arrived Saturday evening. Aunt Teresa and Uncle Gary were already there when we arrived and then shortly after we had, Drew and Uncle Bob arrived. We talked for a while and had pizza for dinner.

Sunday night we celebrated Aunt Teresa and Uncle Gary becoming grandparents and Grandpa becoming a great grandfather. Aunt Deb bought a hat and silly ties for them to wear.

Monday night we celebrated my dad's b-day and had name tags to wear that said "Old Fart's Friends." Aunt Teresa organized an activity that night. We each drew a number and whoever had the same number was our partner. Each of us received a balloon and a sharpie and had to go off in another room with out partner to draw the portrait of our partner on the balloon. When we were done we had to give our balloons back to Aunt Teresa. When we were all done she picked them out of the bag and we had to guess whose portrait was on the balloon.

Last night we celebrated Uncle Bob's b-day.
