Surprise Birthday Dinner

Okay so Bethany ended up coming over around 2:30 this afternoon to finish her hw before we left around 4. We had made plans on Saturday to run errands on Monday (today) and go to Hacienda for desert.

We headed over to Borders where we looked at some books and talked for a while. Before we headed to Hacienda, Bethany read me a Dr. Seus book (thanks girl!) lol.
When we got to Hacienda there were 2 people that were ahead of us but for some reason Bethany just walked right in towards a table. At first I stayed back but decided to go after her to find out what the heck she was doing. She sat down and at first I was so out of it I didn't even realize more of my friends were there.
Kate, Maureen, Jessica, Theresa, and Claire were all seated at the table and said Happy Birthday to me when I sat down (Tom and Jeff came later). It was so nice of them to surprise me like that! I was speechless at first and it was the first time I had the Hacienda people come over and sing their version of Happy Birthday...i got a sombrero (sp?) too. lol
Apparently Bethany was in on this the whole time. She alerted Jessica that I was suspicious of something being planned on my actual birthday so they planned for this ahead of time.
Before Bethany came over this afternoon she sent me some text messages. One asked if we were still on for the errands and Hacienda (and of course I said yes) and the other was asking for my dad's cell phone # because her mom had a question about the lake association. I found out at dinner that it was her talking to my dad to let him know what was up. I didn't even know because my dad even played it off well acting as if it were a business call.
I have such awesome friends! Thanks ya'll - I love you!!!

Tractor show

I had a fun weekend (even though I was stuck without a car).
On Friday Bethany followed me to the Honda dealer. I had to drop my car off to get work done. After we dropped my car off we went to Martins for lunch and headed to Chesterton where we went to a tractor show (Tom invited us).

Here are a couple pictures:

Can you say redneck? lol

After the tractor show Bethany and I went back to her sister's (Sarah) house where I stayed the night. Sarah took me home this morning. I'm gonna try to get some rest since I was up early from the kids

40 Days for Life

"40 Days for Life" (sponsored by St. Joseph County Right to Life) begins today and lasts thru Sunday, November 2 (the Feast of All Souls). It will start out with a Kick-off Rally at 7pm at the Forever Learning Center at Little Flower Parish. During these 40 days we are invited to join in a peaceful, prayerful, continuous witness at the Women's Care Center at Ironwood Circle, which adjoins the Womens' Pavilion abortion facility. During this time we are invited to join in prayer and fasting that adequate familial and community support and legal protecion be given to those human lives which are the smallest, the weakest, the poorest, and most hidden and needful of our care.

Papa Vino's Night

Tonight was Papa Vino's night at Queen of Peace. People bought tickets ahead of time and could also buy them at the door.
Food from Papa Vino's was brought and served in the gym and was a fun night for all. There was a pretty good turn-out =]
I helped with the selling of tickets from 4:30 -8:00 =O

Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All

This gives me so much comfort to be in front of the Blessed Sacrament and sing this song to myself!

Happy Birthday Blessed Mother

http://katiekate574.blogspot.com/2007/09/marys-birthday.html

We do not usually celebrate the birthdays of the saints. Instead we celebrate the day they died, because that is the day they were born into the joys of heaven. But the birthday of Mary, our Blessed Mother, is an exception. We do celebrate her birthday because she came into this world full of grace and because she was to be the Mother of Jesus. The birth of Our Lady was like a dawn. When the sky starts to turn a rosy pink early in the morning, we know the sun will soon come up. In the same way, when Mary was born, she brought great happiness to the world. Her birth meant that soon Jesus, the Sun of justice, would appear. Mary was the wonderful human being whose privilege it was to bring the Lord Jesus to all people. Even today, if we have Mary, we have Jesus. Whoever is very devoted to her is very close to the heart of Jesus. Today, we celebrate and proclaim with joy to the whole world the birth of the Virgin Mary. We can always turn to Mary for help. She is very close to the heart of Jesus. What special intention can I ask her today?

Entertaining Day

I had a pretty interesting weekend -- Friday started out kinda bad but got better in the end. I was going to meet up with Esther but happened to get a flat (which totally sucked) Then Bethany and I met up and I helped her pack some of her stuff that she was taking to Sarah's.
Saturday our choir sang at the 11 am Memorial Mass for Fr. Miller and then I met up at Cracker Barrel with Tom, Bethany, and Sarah. After lunch I went back to Queen of Peace for Adoration and passed out St.Vincent DePaul bags after Mass.Today was the most interesting day. I gave out St. Vincent DePaul bags after all the Masses this morning and then I met up with Bethany and Tom at Martins. When I first got there I called them to see where they were and as I was heading to the door Esther came up to me and said hi. Who knew we'd be at the same Martins, lol.
Anyway...while I was waiting for Bethany and Tom to get there I had some entertainment. Outside was a guy dressed in a banana costume and a guy dressed in a gorilla costume. A girl had a camera and was filming the gorilla guy chasing the banana guy. It was hilarious!
After spending time with Bethany and Tom I went to St. Pius for Mass. I got there early so I called Ruth and while I was talking to her who comes by on rollerblades in the parking lot but Father Dan --> haha what a great day!!! =]
