Vigil Homily

Instead of RCIA on Wednesday evenings, Father Dan has been leading a Lenten Lecture Series for anyone in the parish on Dante's poem, Divine Comedy which is the divided into three books ---corresponding to Hell (Inferno) Purgatory (Purgatorio), and Heaven (Paradiso). When I went on Wednesday, Father Dan announced that he would have to end an hour early (8:00) so he could make it to St. Pius for the vigil of Father Bill Schooler's dad.

* Please pray for Fr. Bill and his family

~ Father Dan was asked to give the homily that night

Confused

For some reason I can't help but feel guilty.....I know it's been 4 months since my grandma died and I miss do mis her, but for some reason it was harder for me when my dog (Gypsy) died than when Grandma did. This is the first death of a family member that I've experienced but shouldn't I miss my grandma more? When Gypsy died it was really hard for me (I cried when we had to put her to sleep) but I can't seem to cry over my grandma's death. It just feels like it never happened and she's still here - it's still really hard to beleive.........I'm really confused! Is this normal? :/
I dunno...maybe it's because I know I'll see my grandma again and I may not see Gypsy? I just don't know how to feel..................... am I totally wrong for feeling this way?

On another note -

~ I had fun tonight with my friends at the Philadelphia. I'm really happy I got involved with the group

~Stations are at St. Stanislaus on Friday. The only thing is that they are at 5:30 whereas usually the other Parishes have Stations at 7.....not sure yet if I'm going - I may just go to St. Thomas

~ Last night was really fun! Luke came over and I went with him and my parents to Applebees and then to a movie (we saw Jumper -which I liked). I really like when I can hang out with Luke - I miss him not being at home :/

Mass at St. Joeseph's

I went to Mass tonight at St. Joseph's and the highlight of my day was that I saw Mary Catherine and her kids :)
It's been a while since I've seen them due to the fact that construction is taking place at work and I haven't been there since January.

Here is a picture of Me & Mary --this makes me smile cuz i like it a lot =)

Last weekend

Hey all!  I just wanted to write about how last weekend went.

February 16
Friday night was a pretty good night for the most part. Theresa and I ended up meeting at Memorial parking lot around 6 and carpooled to Queen of Peace for the soup dinner and Stations. I saw Mrs. Pierce, 3 people from RCIA (Anne, Tina, and Ruth), and we also saw Katie. We went over to sit with her and she introduced us to her uncle and cousin (since they were at the same table) and then pretty soon Donald, Maureen, and Steve showed up. After Stations Theresa, Katie, Maureen, and I ended up talking for a while (we were some of the last ones in Church, lol).
Tomorrow is the Rite of Election & Call to Continuing Conversion at the Cathedral (it starts at 2:30 but we have to be there by 2 since it's going to be packed). Oh and this morning I saw Fr. Bob...he asked me if I liked spiders and of course I said no. He said, "okay I was just wondering because there's one over there (he pointed). I told him I could kill it but he wanted someone to take it out - not kill it....ya there was no way I was going to touch a spider!

Sunday Theresa and I met up and carpooled to the Cathedral. Since I'm not a sponsor I had to sit in an unreserved spot (there weren't many pews unreseved but luckily we got there really early so we were some of the first ones there). I looked across the aisle and I noticed that the reserved seats were for Queen of Peace (i found it funny the first random pew I chose was across from the Queen of Peace candidates). Carol saw me about 10 minutes before the Rite started and told me she needed my help. She explained that someone from each Parish was going to lead the candidates up and carry the Book of the Elect and she wanted me to do that for the Queen of Peace candidates. I was nervous at first but I am happy I got to do it and it also meant I got to sit with them instead of in very back of the Church.

Mardis Gras at the Philly

Last night was a lot of fun I went to the Philadelphia to meet up with some friends from the YA Catholic group. We had a Mardi Gras party with the masks and beads which totally rocked!
